So not done this much beyond a certain game so lets make something of it!
General gaming history
The common vices of *almost* every gaming person in this day and age I play and have played World of Warcraft, League of legends and Minecraft for way to long a time now. Also dabbled in Diablo3 and Starcraft 2. My first game was commander keen (4?) on a shitty old ms dos pc back when I was 10 years old. My first mmo *cough* Runescape.
PoE history
Started playing PoE after seeing multiple mentions of it before and after the d3 release. First character I made was a templar just running around in standard and after only 30 levels my "I need to know everything" mindset was extremely dissatisfied with the lack of direction of my skill-tree that I started looking for youtube footage. Found Kripparian's stuff and decided to go elecleave. After a friend of mine told me how the racing points worked and even if you died you could probably get to the lowest point bracket multiple times I gave it a whirl. After two races I decided that to maximise my chances of getting a high finishing place as a straight up newbie I had to play the least played class which was at the time witch. Flash forward 5 races and an ill timed dinner bell and I gave up 30 mins before the end of a 3 hour race. To my surprise I had 1 point more than my bracket would give after I finished my dinner. Went and checked and lo and behold even with 30 mins of nomming food instead of grinding like a madman still gave me a top 20 finish. For the next race I went completely insane and managed to actually finish top 10. My best result to date is a top 2 finish. Which is completely insignificant if you realise that said race only had about 50 witches participating. Did some playing in the longer duration leagues but after my character ripped I was demotivated and only came back for a few days every now and then.
fast-forward to now and I have my highest hardcore character to date lvl 61 and not really in danger (yet) of ripping to some random nonsense. Apart from almost nicking the entire build whole cloth off a youtuber, I actually managed to put my own spin on it and am starting to understand the game enough to not consider myself a complete beginner, however designing a build from scratch is beyond my reach still.
Person behind the keyboard
I'm a 27 year old male from the Netherlands. I drive forklifts around for a living or do some menial assembly-work if there isn't much to do with the forklifts. I have a few hobbies besides gaming, they include origami (japanese paper folding) listening to audiobooks, watching way to many (tv) series and anime and my other half who likes to laugh when my character desyncs and dies.
